The Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP) is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people 55 and over. They use the skills and talents learned over the years, and also develop new ones, while serving in a variety of volunteer activities within our communities.
RSVP volunteers choose how, where and how often they want to serve, with commitments ranging from a few hours to 40 hours per week. Volunteers receive pre-service orientation, training from the organization where they will serve and supplemental insurance while on duty. RSVP volunteers do not receive monetary incentives, but sponsoring organizations may reimburse them for some costs incurred during service.

RSVP of Crawford, Marion & Morrow CountiesRSVP connects volunteers ages 55 and over with service opportunities in their communities that match 
The Backpack Program provides weekend meals during the school year to students who otherwise might not have enough food. 2 each Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner and 3 snacks. The program runs from 12:30-2:30 every Wednesday. RSVP has 17 Volunteers who serve with the program. If you are 55 and over and are interested in volunteering at this location get a hold of Will Grimes.
Only 1 week until to the next Volunteer Recruitment event. If you are senior 55 and older looking to stay active. Come out to the Crestline Public Library, and check out all the opportunities that are out there for you to volunteer. Hope to see you on April 25th at 10am-1pm. St. Paul United Methodist Church Food Pantry. There are 6 RSVP volunteers who serve at this station. This food pantry provides food to the needy in the Galion community. They operate every third Saturday of every month from 9am to 11am. If you are 55 and over and are interested in volunteering at this location get ahold of Will Grimes.

Good morning. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help out with some bed deliveries this coming Saturday meet up at 3. If you never been on a delivery please consider.
I would like to thank everyone who came to our meeting yesterday. Together, we made 199 journals for Crayons to Classrooms while enjoying delicious peach cobbler and lemonade donated by City BBQ. It was wonderful to see new connections being made and good friends sharing laughter.

Our AmeriCorps Seniors #PortageRSVP volunteers have been serving alongside the Homework Buddies Program for several years now and we are always looking for additional mentors. 💙
Be sure to mark your calendars for this Friday, April 19th from 11am to 1pm! Our friends at Skeels-Mathews Community Center are hosting their 8th Annual Health Fair and are bringing together a lot of resources that will benefit residents in our community.

Our AmeriCorps Seniors #PortageRSVP team would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to our new friends at Nichols Woods Apartments in Ravenna for inviting us this afternoon. Our staff offered insight to the many ways one can serve through RSVP as well as discussing the option to bring a project to the senior apartment community to make it easier to get involved 💙 Our RSVP volunteer Linda, pictured below, spoke about the Medication Assistance Program (MAP) which is where RSVP volunteers offer support to those that are seeking more affordable prescriptions and/or learning what benefits are available to them.
This afternoon at The Wilds Senior Community in Ravenna, our AmeriCorps Seniors #PortageRSVP staff hosted April's "RSVP Community Give Back Day" for a total of 3 projects in an hour! Wowza!!! 🤩
